MMO Magic is a software developer dedicated to advancement of the Massive Multiplayer genre of games. Our mission is to not only improve, but to evolve the MMO experience into new heights of player emersion and involvement through the development of truly living worlds rather than static sand box grinds or linear trudges. We can accomplish these goals by spending the time necessary to create a truly innovative and detailed design and by creating our own technology to power this new type of game play. We have developed our own game engine and game creation tool sets specifically designed for use in the creation of living MMO worlds. Citadel of Sorcery is our current project, and has been in design and development for three years. Citadel of Sorcery could be called an ‘MMORPA’ for Massive Multiplayer Role Playing Adventure. If existing MMOs were checkers, Citadel of Sorcery would be chess. If they were comic books, we would an epic fantasy novel. Citadel of Sorcery will set the new standard for game play in an MMO. The fundamental difference between Citadel of Sorcery and all previous generation MMO games is the fact that the world changes with each new day. The entire history of the world moves on in real time for each player. NOTHING in the game is static, nor does it ‘reset’ to a previous state. The player can make a difference and what they do can change the world. Each player has their OWN story to follow that is unique from all other players, and that story is created by their choices, not by linear progression. The world has its own history, and that history is still evolving as the player adventures. Even more importantly, Citadel of Sorcery is about great game play. Players can choose what kind of adventure they want each time the come to play. They can enjoy amazing adventures that tie into the player’s past, continuing their ongoing story. These connected quests create rich game play far beyond what is offered in current MMO grind type games. But if a player isn’t interested in that deep a story at the moment they can just do some hack and slash monster battles. They can take part in an epic war against evil, or go bounty hunting. They can seek ancient artifacts in adventurous archeology, like a famous guy from Indiana. The point here is that the player decides what kind of fun they want tonight, and the game delivers what they need. If they want a simple diversion, they can have that, if they want an in depth story, then they can be the lead character in a grand adventure. No other MMO offers all this, or frankly, even comes close. This is the new evolution of MMO games. We have spent time reading thousands of Forum posts and Blogs around the world, and we consistently find players begging for better game play in their MMO. Citadel of Sorcery is the answer to their prayers and MMO Magic is the team of professional game developers making that product. |
